Welcome to Toxic Bubblegum

Toxic Bubblegum is all about the cute and colorful side of goth. It's perky goths talking about things that interest them, especially but not exclusively within the goth sub-culture in SL. It's telling others about great sales, and calling lucky letters, mania boards, and mob-vends of group interest, all the while promoting the designers who make our cute-goth avatars not only possible, but gorgeous. It's inviting like-minded people to parties and other events.
But mostly, it's about having fun! ♥

The rules of the Toxic Bubblegum candy & perky-goth bargain-hunters group are very simple.

1. Have fun!

2. Drama happens, but drama for the sake of drama is not cool -- don't be a drama queen. This doesn't *just* mean that the group *isn't* all about you (or even me... just because it's my group and my rules doesn't mean I'm *really* any more important than anyone else)... it also means that insults, isms, political and religious discussions, etc, should have no place in group chat. That said, anyone may talk about pretty much anything, and profanity is not forbidden (we're all adults here, even if we don't act like it), but if you wouldn't talk about something with your parents or your teenage child, you probably shouldn't talk about it in group chat, either, and if a discussion starts to get heated up... take it to IMs.

3. Nobody *has to* call boards/sales, and anyone *can* call boards/sales... just please stick to the theme. And in case you (somehow) missed it, the theme is perky-/candy-/cute-goth. Too cute or colorful is usually tolerable... too dark, maaaybe not (that depends)... and if it's neither cute nor dark, then it's not our thing. Of course, cute skin, eyes, hair, footwear, etc, are *always* on-topic, even if they aren't particularly "goth". Also, unlike some other groups, *anything* in-theme is allowed... this includes tiny avs, neko, whatever. Weapons should be pink, or flowery, or magic wands, or otherwise unrealistic and cute. You get the picture. Oh, and we don't ban for accidental out-of-theme calls, but we do ban for spam. Spam would include excessively long call-posts, call-posts repeated excessively, or call-posts that are so generic and out-of-theme that they are obviously not intended for this group so much as *just* to advertise. What amounts to excessive is up to the discretion of the moderators, but will hopefully be consistent enough to quantify/justify.

3a. We have a "list". This list is a list of known stores that fit our theme. That doesn't mean stores that aren't on the list don't fit our theme, just that we don't know of them, or at least don't know them very well. Also on that list is a list of sponsors. These designers make our group possible, and thus should always be given first priority when you're looking for sales, boards to slap & call, etc.

4. We aren't competing with any other groups. In fact, hopefully we can work with certain other groups, and if not, my next hope is to just stay out of each others' way. If you're into goth but not so much the cute and colorful, try The Thrifty Goth; if you're more into dolls in general than goth-dolls and other dark-cuteness in particular, try the Dolly Dash; etc... and if you're already in those other groups, there's no reason you can't be in this group *too*. ^.^

  2. I know I just posted but I was just talking to Dyre in SL and wanted to share a new word I made up with everyone.

Today's elocution lesson of Nadia's new word is:

    GOTHUTE (noun)
*derived from goth + cute = gothute
*it's pronounced like "goth boot" without
    saying the "b" in boot,
So instead of saying "this is such a cute little goth dress" you can now exclaim "This is so Gothute!"

    GOTHUTELY (adverb)
example: "I was at Sinful Needs during Nadia's Saturday night event when this Gothutely adorable dolly teleported in! I think her name was Dyre."

    GOTHUTNESS (noun)
example: While running around on the "no strings attached" hunt I was acutely aware of the Gothutness level of those around me, yet I was attired in only shorts and a tee.

I hope you have enjoyed todays elocution lesson, and get enjoyment in the usage of the new word! Give credit where due now and then in the silliness of things but thats what this is all about... good friends, good fun, and good times!
